COMPANY HISTORY

HDG is a full service Engineering and Project Management firm that strives to be on the leading edge of new technology and standards. HDG currently provides services in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York. HDG’s diverse staff and their backgrounds provide a multidimensional view on all their projects, allowing them to design and manage creative, cost-effective options for their clients that can be delivered in a timely manner. Through HDG’s quality control and assessment a client will know that the design they are getting is accurate from an engineering standpoint and has been properly value engineered. HDG has been providing site design, development and project management services from feasibility studies through full-scale construction documents for almost 8 years now.

HDG was founded by Daniel P. Hamm, PE in July of 2002 and began in the wireless industry. All of HDG’s personnel have been working in the wireless site design industry for many years and the company has worked on over 2000 sites for various clients such as AT&T, Verizon, MetroPCS, T-Mobile USA Inc., Sprint, Nextel, RCC communications, SBA, Fiber Tower, and Global Telecommunications. HDG has designed a number of different site types including, raw lands, collocations, rooftops, tenant improvements, church steeples and water tanks. In addition, HDG has provided expert testimony in several municipalities across the New England area. HDG has also provided additional services including structural engineering; architectural engineering, including electrical and grounding design; QA/QC review; RF EME plans; site and feasibility analyses; site and tower design, permitting and zoning support; and code reviews, as well as six years of project management services to T-Mobile USA.

In 2007 with addition to the company of key structural engineers, HDG began to more fully develop its structural department and diversify into residential and commercial projects. The structural department has designed and developed over 300 equipment support platforms on various types of buildings including steel, masonry and wood construction. In addition, they have provided full structural design for numerous residential and commercial buildings projects throughout New England.

HDG now also offers in-house architectural services and recently completed the rehabilitation of the MetroPCS Switch Center in Chelmsford, MA, which included the design of a 2,000 s.f. control room, 750kw generator, and lighting and fire protection package and designed eleven (11) DAS Hub Centers for MetroPCS, ranging from 1,000-2,000 s.f., as well as several small residential construction projects.

Our newest venture is the opening of HDG’s Western Massachusetts office focusing on private and public civil engineering projects with expertise in hydrology & hydraulics analysis, stormwater management design, land development, site and environmental permitting, infrastructure design and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).
